Galway 0.12  Sligo 0.15

Sligo powered into the Connacht U21 championship semi-final - they meet Roscommon next, after this deserved victory over Galway at Tubbercurry on Saturday. Despite been outplayed for much of this game Galway almost forced extra time in the closing minutes but corner forward Jonathan Ryan's goal bound shot was superbly blocked. Stephen Coen man of the Match, Sligo's corner forward, was part of a nimble attack and his seven points, five of which were from free's, ensured Sligo were always in front. Indeed he scored all five of Sligo's points in the second half. Galway who found themselves five points down after nine minutes, trailed by four at the interval, 0.10 to 0.06, but later cut the margin to a single point score 0.12 to 0.11, with 12 minutes to go - only for a brace of Coen points to re-energise the home side.
