Game 1.      Galway 3.25                  Antrim 0.12

David Tierney v Antrim                       Ger Loughnane watches closely

Galway got off to the perfect start under Ger Loughnane when they defeated Antrim very easily after a nervous start in Pearse Stadium on Sunday February 12th. Antrim actually lead by three points to two after 12 minutes before Galway forwards cut loose and especially Kevin Broderick who scored the first goal in the 16th minute and some lovely points followed before Kilnadeema/Leitrim star David Tierney cut loose to score a wonderful goal. This killed off the game completely and Galway strolled to an easy victory and even had the luxury of bringing on five subs. There nest game against Limerick will be a lot harder.
