In the end it was Aidan
O'Shea's 40th-minute goal for that settled
it in Mayo's favour, while Peader Gardiner
also contributed with two points from play
at a critical stage. And it was man of the
match Trevor Mortimer who scored the winning
point with two minutes remaining as Mayo
move into fourth place in the league, while
Galway missed the chance to join Kerry at
the top of the table and remain in second
place. The game wasn't without controversy
however, as Mayo midfielder Ronan McGarrity
appeared to be shown a second black card in
the 44th minute but remained on the pitch.
