Kilnadeema/Leitrim

                        Intermediate's win

Intermediate team off to a good start with 12 point victory on league opener

Kilnadeema/Leitrim Intermediate team had it's first competitive game since Mattie Murphy took over in 2007, and also their first game since the semi-final defeat to Killimordaly in the Autumn of 2006. Oranmore/Maree provided the opposition in Intermediate League played in Oranmore on Saturday march 10th. With a good few new faces on board this was a very encouraging display which ended in a 3.16 to 1.10 victory. it was notable to see David Tierney returned to hid centre half back position, a position many feel is his best for this game. it was also great to see all of the scores came from play with Tom Tierney providing a wonderful display of shooting as he scored 2.09. All very encouraging was the display of some of the very young players particularly Gearoid Whelan and Eoin O'Toole who are still minors. It is hoped to put a big effort into the league in 2007 and this was certainly a positive start.
While it was a good weekend for the Intermediate team it was not quiet the same for the Junior sides as the club fielded 3 adult teams over the one weekend. The Junior B side lost to Rahoon and Portumna were too strong for the C side .
