A.G.M Reports Juvenile  2011:

Large Attendance sees no change at top table of Juvenile club

The Annual general meeting of Kilnadeema/Leitrim Juvenile club took place in Leitrim Community Centre on Monday December 12th. There was a large attendance present. Secretary Kevin Nolan read out the minutes of the previous Annual General meeting. Chairman Joe Kenny then addressed the meeting. He welcomed everybody present and first stated the he thought it was an excellent year within the club at Juvenile level. He stated the highlight had to be the hosting of Feile Na nGeal in the club in June especially the friendships made with the Birr club in hurling and Knockananna in Camogie. He complemented the pitch committee’s on the standard of the pitches in both Kilnadeema and Leitrim. Joe also thanked all the families who hosted players over the weekend. He thanked all involved in the mass and Disco in Leitrim Community Centre on the Thursday of the weekend. The Chairman then stated that the other big highlight for the year was the visit of the Under 12 team to Croke Park for a wonderful tournament. Another big event in the club mentioned was the visit of Cork hurling star Sean Og O’Halpin for a coaching session with the Under 14 and 16 players. He thanked Shane Kelly for organising this. Joe stated that it brought the club great pride to see Shane lawless and Brian Molloy win All Ireland minor medals in Croke Park for Galway and also Mike Flanagan who was a selector.  The Chairman also congratulated Mark Lawless and Ciaran Connor who played for Galway Under 14 team and Brian Molloy and Darragh O’Donoghue with the Under 16 team. Joe also said it was wonderful to see so many All Ireland medals come to our club through Loughrea Vocational School. Next Joe spoke about the Cul Camps, which he stated were a real success, and thanked Laura nee for her help with this. Joe then spoke about the school in the club, which he stated were doing great work and whished Triona Kennedy all the best in her retirement from Leitrim after 36 years. He welcomed Rod Gorman to the school, a good hurling man from Tommie Larkins. Joe also stated it was great to see football going well in the schools. Joe complemented David Comer on the work done with the under 6/8 players. As usual the Vinnie Flynn tournament was a big success with Ardrahan winning the title this year. He thanked Eilis Magner for making the school facilities available in Kilnadeema when hosting the competition. One of the real big successes was the winning of the Mullagh Flood Lite competition at Under 12. The Chairman also looked at the Under 13 and Under 16 competitions, which he stated, were very unlucky to lose out in at semi final stage. Joe concluded this section by thanking all managers and Selectors with all the teams. The |chairman’s final words were to thank Marian Healy for her 4 years as club Secretary.
