Treasurer.
John Skelly elected new Chairman of Kilnadeema/Leitrim hurling club for 2012 A Large attendance was present at the Annual General meeting of Kilnadeema/Leitrim adult club, which was held in Leitrim Community Centre on Sunday November 20th. First chairman John Kennedy welcomed everybody to the meeting and then asked Secretary Michael Geragthy to read the minutes of the last Annual General Meeting. John then gave his Chairman’s address. He said that the club’s first event of the year, the club Social that was jointly held with Shamrock’s Camogie club was a very successful night and thanked everybody who helped out with that event. He stated that it was a pity more nights out similar to this were not held during the year. The Chairman then took an indebt look at the performances of the various teams in the club during the year. First he complemented the Under 21 team on reaching the county final only to lose out to a much stronger Cappataggle side. He was very complementary of the players who he said were a very united bunch of players both on and off the pitch. John then stated that he thought both of the junior sides did well and were unlucky not to progress beyond the quarterfinals. The Chairman then took an indebt look at the Intermediate team and said he was very disappointed with the way they had performed despite the players and management putting in a huge effort only to fade badly in the preliminary quarter finals against Kilconieron. He wondered did they underestimate the opposition or take them for granted. At minor level he said it was great to compete at A grade but he thought the team looked tired and not fresh at times. John then congratulated both Shane Lawless and Brian Molloy on winning all Ireland Minor medals with Galway. At Juvenile level the Chairman thought it was a successful year reaching semi finals and quarterfinals in all grades. John thought the hosting of Feile Na nGeal was very successful event despite the terrible bad weather for the weekend. He thanked all who helped out in any way in organising the weekend. The Chairman concluded his look back at the teams in the club by thanking all Managers and Selectors for their help throughout the year. John then focused on the club finances and said the club held a very successful scrap collection during the year and Pig Roast night. He thanked all the club sponsors especially Fergal Leahy for their kind contributions. He thanked all who helped out and sold lotto tickets during the year. The Chairman also spoke about the development in Kilnadeema pitch and said great progress had been made in 2011. He thanked Gary Murray for all the voluntary work he put into the pitch and anybody else who helped out. Finally the Chairman congratulated anybody who had a celebration during the year and sympathized with all who suffered bereavement.
