Beagh no match for Junior B team as they qualify  for quarter finals

Junior B  Hurling Championship played in Kilbeacanty on Sunday July 8th
Kilnadeema/Leitrim 0.17  Beagh  0.04

The brilliant news to come out of this game is that the Kilnadeema/Leitrim Junior B team have qualified for the knockout stages of this year's championship after a very easy and comprehensive victory over south Galway side Beagh on Sunday Evening July 8th in Kilbeacanty. This was a game that really showed how strong this team can be as they scored at will all day. Kevin Molloy opened the scoring after one minute with a pointed free before the first of 15 scores from play came when Corner Forward Cathal Shiel pointed a minute later. Beagh soon replayed with a point from play themselves before points followed from impressive forwards Danny Burke and Brian Costello on 5 and 6 minutes to open up a 3 point lead. Cathal Shiel who is enjoying a new lease of life as a forward in 2007 then added his second point from play on 10 minutes and Brian Costello who was enjoying more freedom as a half forward also tacked on his second a minute later. Beagh were already in trouble but kept in touch with a second point from a free a minute later. Danny Burke with two further points and Brian Costello with an impressive three more scores all from  play had Kilnadeema/Leitrim in cruse control by the 22 minute with Beagh only reply a point from another free sandwiched in between. There were no further scores to the half time break as the score line read Kilnadeema/Leitrim 0.11 Beagh 0.03. The second half was a poor affair as Beagh offered no sign of a comeback to the Kilnadeema/Leitrim lead while the east Galway side took the foot off the pedal as well. Jason Collins opened the scoring after half time with a point from play before Beagh replyed with another pointed free on 12 minutes ( there only score of the second half). Brian Costello then added his sixth point half way through the half before Kevin Molloy added his second pointed free of the day two minutes later. Kilnadeema/Leitrim now brought in three substitutes before Cathal Shiel added another point on 20 minutes. Kevin Molloy with another point from play and finally substitute Adrian Comhar also scored from play on 28 minutes to close out the scoring on a great day for all associated with this team. The team can now take a welcome break before they play again on 11th August.
