Kilnadeema/Leitrim prove too strong for Ballygar in opening Minor game

Kilnadeema/Leitrim got their minor campaign off to a winning start with a comprehensive victory over Ballygar on Easter Monday in Duggan Park, Ballinasloe. Kilnadeema/Leitrim with a mixture of experienced and some very young players were always on top on their North East Galway opponents. Even though the early stages of the first half were very close with points being swooped all the time Kilnadeema/Leitrim were finding it easier to score. Michael McLoughlin opened the scoring on 5 mins, before Eoin O'Toole and Gary Curley traded points with Ballygar all day and it was Dara Herlihy was the first to put daylight between the sides with a goal on 30 mins to leave the score at half time 1-6 to 0-4. Ballygar started brightly in the second half with two early points to leave just a goal in it but this was to be their last scores of the day as Kilnadeema/Leitrim took over completely and scoring at will with the second goal coming from Eoin O'Toole after a great pass from Dara Herlihy. Eoin was to finish with 1-08 in  man of the match performance. This was a good start for the team but only that as Ballygar were very poor and much tougher games lie ahead.
