Under 14 championship semi-final played in Ballinasloe on Monday May 21st
Kilnadeema/Leitrim 4.05   Cappatagle  0.05

Winners of Under 14 medals are very scarce in Kilnadeema/Leitrim hurling club as the one and only title came to Kilnadeema all of 24 years ago which made the 2007 Under 14 semi-final all the more important. against Cappatagle in Ballinasloe on Monday May 21st. With Killimor having already qualified for the final in the first game this made the Kilnadeema/Leitrim lads all the more determined having already defeated Killimor in the group. Cappatagle who had topped their group were considered very handy and would take a good performance to defeat them. Cappatagle were the first to have the advantage of a strong breeze, but it was Kilnadeema/Leitrim who got the perfect start when Shane Lawless breakthrough the Cappatagle defence to strike a great goal on 4 minutes. Their was no more scores for 10 minutes but their certainly was plenty of chances created by both sides with Dara Donoghue saving brilliantly in goal for Kilnadeema/Leitrim on more than one occasion to stop Cappatagle scoring the goal they so badly wanted. Then after some near misses before hand Kilnadeema/Leitrim full Forward Stephen Bruton scored a lovely goal after winning a loose ball in the Cappatagle square and crashing the ball to the net to put his side two goals ahead after 14 minutes. A Minute later Cappatagle finally got on the scoreboard with  a point from play. Cillian Dowling who had a super game added a point for Kilnadeema/Leitrim a minute later. Cappatagle got another point on 19 minutes from their Corner Forward. Kilnadeema/Leitrim continued to dominate and Midfielder Conor O'Brien soon put his side two goals up again with a long range point. Finally on the stroke of half time Cappatagle got another point to leave the half time score reading 2.02 to 0.03. Cappatagle may have been down at half time but certainly came out very determined for the second half and they upped the tempo big time for a good while and opened the second half scoring with a free on 3 minutes. Cillian Dowling who was now enjoying a lot of space got another point for Kilnadeema/Leitrim on 7 minutes. Cappatagle stayed in touch with another free on 9 minutes to still leave four points between the sides. Kilnadeema/Leitrim finally got the vital breakthrough in the second half when Cillian Dowling was again on target only this time he scored a brilliant goal to leave his side ahead 3.03 to 0.05 after 12 minutes. He was on hand again three minutes later to score another point. The second half was certainly turning into the Cillian Dowling show as he continued to find a lot of space up front and he added another point on 18 mins to leave nine points between the sides. Cillian was not finished though as he got through for another goal to finally put an end to Cappatagle and guide his side into the County final and a rematch with Killimor on a final score line of 4.05 to 0.05. Kilnadeema/Leitrim certainly have made wonderful progress in this championship and they're in a good state of health to finally bring home a Under 14 title to Kilnadeema/Leitrim.
